Artforum Gallery is a private fine art gallery owned by the Krachunov family. The Krachunovs are a family of artists, all hailing from Bulgaria. They moved to Twin Falls in 1995. Their artistic history dates back to when Marianna and George Krachunov met at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, during the 80’s. The two were married and worked together fulfilling their artistic dreams. Most notably, they won several international art and design competitions, taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, owned a gallery in Sofia, Bulgaria, and worked on many large murals which can still be found throughout Europe. The Krachunovs moved to the USA after winning the greencard lottery while living in London. They packed their bags, along with their two daughters, and brought their talents to Idhao.
The story continues 20 years later. Although George passed away in 2014, his legacy lives on. George was an undeniable inspiration to everyone around him, not only through his incredible talent in art, but also through his positive energy. If you have ever met George, or have spoken with someone who has, they’ll all tell you what an incredible person he was. George passed in 2014 from pancreatic cancer. His creative influence is apparent through his wife, Marianna, also an artist, grand-daughter Lili, daughter, Rumi, and lastly, Mina. Mina grew up watching her parents build, sculpt, paint, create. She inherited much of their creative abilities, techniques, and passion for expressing emotion through art. Since George’s passing, Mina has transitioned from part-time dabbler to full-time artist, practicing the techniques she remembers from her father, but also evolving her own style. Now, Mina and Marianna continue to paint and display their works at the gallery. We hope you enjoy both of their work on this site.
